When you crave for something sweet, it can be a signal of dehydration and most of the time people carve for it when they are stress out or despair. When you are dehydrated, drink ample of water to rinse that sweet tooth rather than taking carbonated drinks that will just increase your carving. Treat yourself better when you are immersed in a negative emotions, such as working out or taking rest.
If you really really wish to eat, grab naturally sweeten food like sweet potatoes, carrots, apples, raisins and even honey!

Cravings for salt can be a signal for missing the trace minerals in natural salt. Processed salt (table salt) is stripped of these minerals during processing. Incorporate pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, flax and dark chocolate to boost your intake of important minerals. Sea vegetables are a good source too. Powdered kelp is easy to throw into a smoothie. When choosing salt, it's important to buy an unrefined mineral or sea salt. A trip to your local health food store will give you choices.

Carving for fried foods (aka junk food)? Nothing much to say, is simply your body wants fat. But do remember that not all fats are bad (you will still need some fat to maintain your body!), so you have the option to take in the 'good' fat. Instead of something oily, which expose you to hydrogenated oils and trans fat, go with raw nuts or almonds.
